Painted in Shadow

Olivia & Christer came from Norway with a brief most planners flinch at: make it moody, make it Caravaggio. Full creative control, a dark and painterly vision — deep purple, dark red, black and gold. We built the whole day around shadow and light.

The ceremony sat beneath a canopy of towering trees in the venue's secluded woodland — a naturally dramatic backdrop, no set dressing required — hung with crystal chandeliers. Dinner was pure opulence: naked tables under vintage chandeliers, gold chalices overflowing with burgundy, purple and rose blooms, and dark candles — black, purple, pink — pooling the room in painterly light.

The detail held to the last millimetre: a gold menu inside a black laser-cut envelope, sealed with a burgundy ribbon and a custom glass jewel — a keepsake as bespoke as the day. A live band flown in from Bologna kept the atmosphere burning, then a DJ set carried it into the night. Exclusive, artful, and entirely theirs.
