Candlelight & Fireworks

Maria & Kyle are quiet, considered, deeply respectful — the kind of couple who don't need noise to make an impression. They chose Abbazia Santa Anastasia, a 12th-century abbey and vineyard in the Madonie hills above Castelbuono, and let the place do the talking.

The ceremony sat in the garden, dressed in colourful blooms; cocktail hour drifted on voice, keys and saxophone. Then dinner in the baglio under a ceiling of tiny lights — minimal black-and-white menus that still landed, candles everywhere, and a small white Sicilian pinecone waiting at every place, a keepsake for each guest.

And then the quiet couple let loose: traditional Armenian dances pulled everyone in, the night ran long and joyful, and it closed the only way it could — fireworks over the abbey. Reserved, never dull. Exactly them.
